Hello, everyone! How’d you like PART 13.5? I hope you liked it. It’s fine if you don’t; I suck at romance writing, anyway. I mostly did that because I felt bad for not focusing on the Earth cast more. I needed to pay off something I set up awhile ago, too. But that’s enough about that; let’s get to this part!
Last time; Goku and Tien return from their training with King Kai, with some new techniques in their arsenal. They are greeted by their friends, who challenge them to some light sparring. However, because there are so many of them, they have to do this a bit differently; they set it up like it’s a martial arts tournament! The Fights:
- Goku vs Chichi
- Raditz vs Gohan
- Chiaotzu vs Krillin
- Tien vs Yamcha
Why this roster? Well; I felt kind of bad for not doing some of the classic fights that really made these characters stand out in our eyes. Now that they’re all at a higher tier; even a “light sparring match” should be exciting! And even a few rematches! Where’s Yajirobe? Oh, off eating somewhere, not wanting to get involved with the Saiyan invasion. The first rematch: Goku vs Chichi! This goes about how you think it will: Goku is dominant, but impressed at how strong Chichi has become. Even using a portion of his Super Saiyan power to knock her away. After that; Chichi forfeits.
The next fight is Raditz vs Gohan. This is also a sort of rematch as as Raditz tried to kidnap Gohan a year ago. Gohan stands before his uncle tall, ready to settle things. Raditz does not think much of the boy(not having full use of the ki sense ability the others possess), so he is off guard. Gohan blitz’ Raditz, and kncks him flat on his tail. Raditz dodges his next attack, and thinks “Where’d this brat get such power?! What has he been doing all this time?!” Raditz decides to get eve, and the duo are much more even. Yamcha: “Uh; they do know these are sparring matches, right?” Goku promises to intervene if things get too rough.
As the fight goes on; Raditz starts gaining more and more of the upper hand. He’s an adult Saiyan male; his stamina is much better than Gohan’s. So even though Gohan may have the slight edge in terms of raw power; Raditz’ training and stamina are much better than the hybrid boys. When it looks like he’s starting lose; Gohan reveals his new trick: Super Saiyan! Raditz, Chich, and Goku can’t believe what they’re seeing; “Gohan is a Super Saiyan now?! He looks like a PUNK ROCKER!” Chichi exclaims. Thought I was just gonna forget about that, didn’t ya? Naw; I’m keeping it. But since this is a different Chichi, it isn’t as serious. Well; it was NEVER serious, but……..you know what I mean.
Goku is filled with overwhelming joy that his son has reached the same state he had reached years ago, and a few years younger to boot. Raditz is FURIOUS: “This mongrel BOY has done what a pure blood Saiyan warrior like myself could NOT?! What have I been doing all this time?!” He begins to feel angry at himself for getting caught up in his feelings for Chichi, and not achieving the Super Saiyan state. He lashes out at Gohan, but the boy catches the attack, and knocks Raditz out. With a quick senzu, Raditz awakens, and flies away in rage. He isn’t too far, though, just to watch the rest of the fights. He may not have the ki sense down, but he can at least suppress his own. He’s a bit of a logical Saiyan, so he will hide if he has to.
The next match is Krillin vs Chiaotzu; a rematch between the pair. In the 22nd martial arts tournament; Chiaotzu had won by sheer determination, and blasted Krillin out of bounds with a “Super Dodon Ray.” But now, years later; they are able to have a rematch. It starts off with the typical “warm up,” until the fighters get serious. Chiaotzu uses his paralysis technique to keep Krillin immobile. He attacks with a flurry of kicks. He remembers back to the fight against him at the martial arts tournament, and does not respond when Krillin asks him math questions. So Krillin improvises, and opens his mouth. Out comes a massive blast, changing Chiaotzu’s concentration to defending. Since it’s a point blank range blast, he has no choice but to take it.
When the dust settles; Chiaotzu frantically looks around for Krillin. In an instant; the match is over. Krillin got behind Chiaotzu, and kicked him hard enough to knock him out. With that, they move on to the NEXT FIGHT: Goku vs Gohan! How many dream fights of yours have come true? I know you have your “Gogeta vs Broly’s” or “Goku vs Grand Priest,” but……come on; you wanted this fight to happen. GRANTED: no pictures. That’s just because my drawing ability is so dog sh!t awful that it won’t even be as good as one of those stick figure animatics on Youtube. So you’ll just have to keep envisioning. But I’ll do the best to be……………..descriptive! Not very detailed; if I went into detail about every punch and kick, we’d be here for the next 3 parts.
Goku stands before the determined Gohan. They take their stances, probing for the right moment to attack. Gohan lunges in, and dashes beside Goku, trying to land a punch to his face, but Goku catches the attack. This had been a feint on Gohan’s part; the real attack was a kick that lands square in Goku’s face. Keep in mind: Gohan is 5 years old at this point; he’s not so tall. So his short body allows him to attack in ways Goku wouldn’t have expected. This kick sends Goku flying a fair distance, but before he can rebound; Gohan flies overhead and kicks him into the dirt, creating a crater. The boy then leaps up, and tries using a massive Dodon ray(learned from Chiaotzu while training in the heavenly realm). When the dust settles; Goku is nowhere to be found. In the air, behind him; Goku fires a basic ki blast meant to get Gohan’s attention. Tien realizes what Goku did immediately: “He used Instant Transmission at the last minute to get behind Gohan.”
Gohan looks at his father, and asks “How’d you do that?!” Goku responds “If you win; maybe I’ll teach it to you some day!” This gets Gohan excited, fueling his desire to win. He becomes a Super Saiyan, and charges at Goku at breakneck speeds. Goku becomes a Super Saiyan, and counters Gohan every step of the way. Chichi comments: “Look at both my boys up there, fighting as father and son! Gohan; mommy’s proud of you!” Tien makes a remark also: “The way it’s going; it’s more like Goku’s training him.” Remember this line from Battle of Gods? As the fight continues; Gohan begins losing steam. So he bets everything on this next attack.
